Microblading
What is Microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo technique used to create the illusion of fuller brows.
The Procedure
The client’s brows will be numbed for approximately an hour during this process. In that time, the shape, design, and overall structure will be discussed with the client to ensure the best results. After perfecting the shape, Nadya applies a non-permanent brow to show the client and for them to approve before the procedure is started. The colour is chosen depending on the clients natural hair colour and skin undertone. After the client approves, Nadya starts the process by applying tiny hair strokes that are manually drawn on using a special tattooing agent. The client is continuously numbed throughout the procedure to stay comfortable. Ink is left on for 20-30minutes after the procedure, once removed ointments are applied to help with the healing process.
The Healing Process
Brows will begin to darken after the frist day of the procedure and they will get up to 4x darker then the original shade. The brows will then begin to scab over the next couple of days — it is important to not pick at those scabs, but to allow the scabs to fall off themselves. Once the scabs fall off the colour can appear fairly light, after a day or two the brows will obtain their natural colour. After the follow-up appointment, this healing process will be repeated. Please note that clients who have oily skin may need more then one follow-up appointment.
Additional Information
The entire procedure including the first hour of numbing can last anywhere from 2-3 hours long. Clients are encouraged to schedule a follow up appointment 4-6 weeks after to make sure that they are satisfied with the results. During this appointment, Nadya will touch up any areas that are needed. This appointment in crucial to achieving the perfect brows. Results can last anywhere from one to three years, depending on your skin type (ink does fade faster on oily skin), face products, and lifestyle.
Post-care
Coconut oil is recommended to help your brows heal. Applying coconut oil 3 times a day for 2 – 4 weeks will help scabbing and ink retention. Sunscreen is important as it extends the longevity of your brows and prevent against fading from the sun. It is recommended to stay off of Retin-A or retinol products about a week bedore an appointment and 30 days after getting you brows done, as the ingredients in those products can cause pigments to fade prematurely. Its recommended to not get your brows wet for 1- 2 weeks while they heal and to not use makeup on that area for the same amount of time. Once the skin is completely healed you can go back to the same routine. Nadya is a trusted and experienced brow artist but as with all procedures infections are possible if you don’t follow proper aftercare procedures.
